Build live dashboards and animate explainers with Claude | Claude by Anthropic
Summary
Claude now offers Dashboards and Motion, transforming data into interactive visualizations and ideas into animated explainers. Dashboards connect to data platforms and CRMs, allowing plain-language queries and staying current with data changes. Motion turns text and data into editable animations for presentations and explainers. These features, along with Docs, Slides, and Design, are now out of beta and available across all plans, with enhanced enterprise readiness and collaboration tools, aiming to streamline data analysis and content creation.
Key Insights
Claude Dashboards provide transparency through visible queries and up-to-date data refresh information.
A key feature of Claude Dashboards is the transparency provided to the user. For instance, clicking on any number within a chart reveals the specific SQL query used to retrieve that data, which Claude can also explain. Furthermore, each chart indicates when its data was last refreshed, ensuring users are always aware of the timeliness of the information presented.
Claude Motion generates animations using editable code, offering full control over content and timing.
Designed for explaining one's own work, Claude Motion writes code to animate text, charts, shapes, and images. This means users have complete control to edit any word, number, or timing element. Importantly, it does not use AI video generation models, thus avoiding generated footage or AI-created people, and the final animation can be downloaded as an MP4.

Introduction to New Claude Features
Claude introduces Dashboards for current data visualization and Motion for animated explainers.
Claude can now convert data into dynamic dashboards and ideas into animated explainers. Claude Dashboards connect to data platforms (BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake) or CRMs (Salesforce) and are available in beta on paid plans. Claude Motion is also in beta on Team and Enterprise plans. In contrast, Claude Docs, Slides, and Design are out of beta and accessible on all plans, including Free.
Claude streamlines data analysis and content creation by directly generating dashboards and animations.
Traditionally, accessing company data involved tickets or SQL, and impactful ideas often remained static slides. Claude now enables users to directly request a dashboard or an animation, seeing the underlying queries or code for transparency and editability. This direct generation addresses the delays and limitations of previous methods.
Claude Dashboards: Interactive Data Analysis
Connect data sources and ask questions in natural language to generate dynamic dashboards.
Claude Dashboards can connect to various data platforms like Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, and Snowflake, as well as CRMs like Salesforce. Users can ask questions in plain language, and Claude will pull answers from the data, build the dashboard, and ensure it remains current as the data evolves. It supports multiple connectors for comprehensive data analysis.
Dashboards are ideal for quick data exploration and can be exported to other BI tools.
Dashboards are particularly useful for immediate, exploratory questions, such as comparing current signups to last month's. Each chart displays the query behind it, which can be viewed or explained by Claude, and shows the last data refresh time. For deeper analysis, dashboards can be sent to other BI and analytics tools like Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog, and Sigma, with more integrations coming soon.

Claude Motion: Bringing Ideas to Life with Animation
Transform reports and presentations into dynamic animated explainers using simple prompts.
Claude Motion allows users to generate animations from prompts, turning content like quarterly reports into 30-second explainers for company-wide meetings, adding motion to charts in board decks, or creating product walkthroughs. The output is a short, video-like animation that can be adjusted or regenerated by Claude.
Animations can be further refined in external editing tools for advanced customization.
After initial creation by Claude, users can export their animations to various external editing platforms. This includes options like Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI, and Runway, with Canva and Captions integration planned. This integration allows for more complex editing and customization beyond Claude's native capabilities.
Docs, Slides, and Design: Enhanced Features
Docs, Slides, and Design are now fully available, featuring enterprise readiness and team collaboration.
After extensive feedback, Claude's Docs, Slides, and Design tools are officially out of beta. Key enhancements include enterprise-grade features like CMEK support and admin control over artifact templates. Collaboration is improved with team editing on the same artifact and options to share externally, provided admin policies allow.
Files can be exported with formatting preserved into various formats and platforms.
Downloads for PowerPoint and PDF maintain the exact formatting created in the editor. Decks can be directly exported to Google Slides as editable files, ensuring seamless integration with existing workflows and software.
Mobile editing and cross-platform accessibility are now standard for Docs, Slides, and Design.
Users can now edit documents, presentations, and designs directly from the Claude mobile application, enhancing flexibility and accessibility. This feature allows for work on the go, making content creation and modification more convenient regardless of location.
Claude Design Integration and Migration
Claude Design has been integrated into the main Claude conversation interface.
Claude Design, previously at a standalone URL (claude.ai/design), now operates within every Claude conversation since September 16th. This integration allows Design to leverage conversational context, uploaded files, and available connectors for a more cohesive user experience. The standalone site will remain active until December 14th.
Users must migrate their design systems from the standalone site to Claude before December 14th.
To ensure continuity, users are advised to migrate their team design systems via the Artifacts page in Claude. This process brings over all organizational design systems while preserving originals on the standalone platform until its closure. Projects do not require immediate action as they will continue working on the standalone version until the deadline.
Chats and comments on the standalone Claude Design site will not transfer after December 14th.
Users should be aware that chats with Claude and comments made on projects within the standalone Claude Design site will not be available after the platform closes on December 14th. Similarly, any public links pointing to projects on the standalone version will cease to function.
Getting Started and Enterprise Administration
Initiate new features by directly asking Claude for dashboards, animations, or decks.
Users can start using the new features immediately by prompting Claude with requests like 'Build a dashboard of this quarter’s revenue by region,' 'Animate how our pricing plans compare for the sales kickoff,' or 'Turn these notes into a deck for Monday.' This simplifies the process of leveraging Claude for data analysis and presentation creation.
Enterprise admins must enable Dashboards and Motion; Docs, Slides, and Design have default settings.
For Enterprise administrators, both Claude Dashboards and Motion are disabled by default and can be activated within Organization settings under Artifacts. Docs, Slides, and Design are set to turn on by default on October 15th, but can be enabled sooner by admins if desired.
